The Faculty of the Environmental Sciences is one of the first four pioneer faculties in the University.The Faculty was formally instituted in 1990 when the University was established, with late Prof. S. O. A. Adesina as the foundation Dean.It is to offer programmes in Architecture, Fine and Applied Arts, and Urban and Regional Planning. The foundation department in the faculty is the Department of Architecture, established in 1990. The two other departments were established in 1992.

The twenty three foundation students were admitted for the Architecture programme in 1990. The first sets of students for the Fine and applied Arts and Urban and Regional Planning programmes were admitted in the 1992/93 session. The first set of graduates, 13 in all and mainly from Architecture Department, was produced in 1996. Since then till date the faculty has produced a total of 537 graduates. 

The International Journal of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development (IJAERD) is the periodical published by the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Nigeria. It generally focuses scholarly articles, current information on research and development and contributions relevant to Agricultural Economics, Extension and Rural Development and other related areas of activity.
